The Dinner Time Struggle is Real

Hi, I'm Jessica. I am a mother of three, a full-time graphic designer, and the creator of Quick Family Meals. A few years ago, I hit a breaking point. I was spending over $800 a month on fast food and meal delivery services because by the time 6:00 PM rolled around, I was physically and mentally exhausted. The thought of chopping vegetables and standing over a hot stove made me want to cry.

The breaking point came when my youngest son drew a picture of our family at dinner time for a school project... and it was a picture of us sitting in a drive-thru lane. It was funny, but it also stung. I realized I needed to change our routine, but the beautiful, elaborate recipes I found on Pinterest only made me feel worse about my lack of time and energy.

I started experimenting. I stripped recipes down to their bare essentials. I learned how to utilize pre-chopped frozen vegetables without sacrificing flavor. I discovered the magic of sheet pan dinners, where the oven acts as your sous-chef. I figured out how to make a complete, balanced meal using only one pot so I wouldn't spend my evening doing dishes.

I started sharing these "survival meals" with other moms at my kids' school, and the response was overwhelming. People were desperate for recipes that were realistic for a Tuesday night. That is how Quick Family Meals was born. This site isn't about gourmet cooking or perfect plating. It is about getting a hot, tasty meal into the bellies of the people you love, as quickly and painlessly as possible, so you can actually enjoy your evening together.
